Actress Isabel Sanford, best known to audiences for her role as the quick-witted wife Louise on the television sitcoms 'The Jeffersons,' has died at age 86, her publicist said July 12, 2004. Sanford, the first black woman to win an Emmy for best actress in a TV comedy, died last Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
